IconTrust^® technology is used wherever safety-critical information needs to be displayed accurately, completely and without distortion on TFT displays.

TFT-based display systems are now central human-machine interfaces (HMIs). Operators make decisions based on the displayed data, which have a direct impact on processes, machine statuses or safety-critical procedures. An incorrect or manipulated display can have serious consequences.

IconTrust® ensures that displayed content is reliably monitored and validated.

SelectTrust® und IconTrust® überwachen dabei kontinuierlich alle sicherheitsrelevanten Anzeige- und Eingabebereiche und gewährleisten so eine normkonforme, sichere Bedienung in sicherheitskritischen Anwendungen.

The technology remains completely invisible to the operator: they select a graphical control element on the TFT display and activate it via touch.

SelectTrust® identifies the selected control element using IconTrust®, assigns it a unique signature, and transmits the input as a functionally secure action to a secure computer. This clearly ensures the reliability and correctness of the input.

SelectTrust® and IconTrust® continuously monitor all safety-relevant display and input areas, thereby ensuring standards-compliant, secure operation in safety-critical applications.

IconTrust® and SelectTrust® are patented technologies that detect and report data errors on TFT panels using a hardware circuit that operates independently of the host PC.

The technology:

• analyses the displayed image content
• generates a unique ‘fingerprint’ of the displayed data
• monitors defined screen areas separately
• detects inconsistencies or unauthorised changes

This allows multiple, independently displayed information areas to be monitored exclusively and separately – even in complex visualisations.
