Precision measurement and display systems for rail vehicles through the ages
Over 100 years of measurement technology for rail transport
The history of DEUTA-WERKE began in Berlin in 1905. Over the decades, a company specialising in eddy-current tachometers developed into an internationally recognised specialist in measurement, display and data acquisition systems for rail transport.
From the very beginning, technical precision has been at the heart of the company’s philosophy. DEUTA soon specialised in tachometers and speed measurement technology for locomotives and traction vehicles – a field that grew steadily in importance with the rapid expansion of rail transport. Through continuous product development and close collaboration with vehicle manufacturers and rail operators, the company quickly established itself as a reliable partner to the rail industry.
As technology evolved, DEUTA consistently expanded its portfolio. Mechanical and electromechanical solutions were supplemented by electronic systems and later further developed using digital technologies. Today, the product range encompasses high-precision sensor technology, speedometers, display instruments, and modern data acquisition and diagnostic systems for rail vehicles.
Combining innovation and tradition
Despite all the technological changes, one thing has remained constant for over a century: the commitment to developing safe, precise and durable solutions for rail transport. This combination of tradition, engineering expertise and innovative strength continues to form the foundation of DEUTA-WERKE to this day.
As part of the international rail industry, DEUTA today stands for reliable measurement technology “Made in Germany” and for the continuous development of technologies that make rail transport safer and more efficient.
Despite all its innovative strength, DEUTA remains true to its roots. As a family-run business, free from the burden of complex corporate structures, we have retained the highest degree of flexibility and customer focus.
