According to the principle ‘Together for the climate’, Kreissparkasse Köln presented a sustainability award for the first time. A total of 133 associations and 43 companies from the Rhein-Erft district, Rhein-Sieg district, Rheinisch-Bergisch district and Oberbergisch district entered the competition with innovative climate protection ideas for CO2 savings, with DEUTA-WERKE taking first place in the jury awards for companies. The jury praised the consistent implementation and the role model function in the industry, as we were able to reduce our CO2 consumption by 87% from 2020 to 2024 by integrating geothermal energy and photovoltaics in our new building, the comprehensive energy-efficient refurbishment of our production hall and the electrification of our vehicle fleet.
DEUTA received a communication package worth 10,000.00 euros as the winning prize, which will be implemented in cooperation with Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger Medien. In this way, exemplary projects are made accessible to a wider public.
The expert jury was made up of TobiasPeylo, Professor at Kempten University of Applied Sciences, Dr Nicole Grünwald, President of the Cologne Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), Christian Brand, Director of Social Engagement and Managing Director of the Foundations of Kreissparkasse Köln, Yvonne Zwick, Chairwoman of BAUM e. V., and Michael Greuel, Managing Director and General Editorial Director of Rheinische Redaktionsgemeinschaft. They contributed their respective perspectives from the fields of science, business, commitment, the environment and the media.
Sustainability is also a common thread that runs through our company history. DEUTA has been guided by the founding Rensch family since 1905. The company focuses on long-term corporate success, successful climate protection while meeting climate targets, and a self-image based on social responsibility and future-orientated action.
The sustainability award from Kreissparkasse Köln and the judgement of the high-calibre expert jury are a special recognition for our company.
Many thanks to Kreissparkasse Köln and the jury!
