Career discovery days at DEUTA

As STEM* (science, technology, engineering, mathematics)-Excellence School, Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium particularly promotes natural sciences. The learning partnership between DEUTA-WERKE and OHG regularly allows the students to get a first insight into the everyday working life

The majority of DEUTA personnel has a scientific background. With the design and development expertise of technicians, physicians and engineers DEUTA develops products for the railway industry which ensure worldwide a safe speed measurement, speed detection and speed display. So, this special day at DEUTA-WERKE turns out to be a practical adventure for the STEM students.

Last Thursday, 28 high school students visited the company in Bergisch Gladbach. Dr. Rudolf Ganz, technical Managing Director of DEUTA-WERKE introduced the STEM relevant job profiles. With his own professional career as phyician and engineer he is the best example of a successful STEM career.

The chief instructor Elmar Schraetz and his colleagues Christoph Kutylo and Kai Rink led the students through a solder training where they put together an electronic dice.

During the subsequent works tour the high school students had once again the opportunity to learn about the different STEM-occupations: with its high manufacturing depth DEUTA-WERKE unites hard- and software engineering, designing and manufacturing under one roof , thus being the ideal company for technically interested STEM-students of the OHG.
