IconTrust™: Safe Innovation for TFT Indicators

With the MFT-S range, DEUTA is offering an innovative enhancement of the indicator range, which is particularly suitable for the driver’s cab in railway vehicles for the display of safety relevant information.

The MFT-S, equipped with IconTrust™ technology is clearly distinguishable from devices which are occasionally available commercially, which represent a customised design for safety relevant applications with corresponding certification. These conventional devices are, as a rule, ones for which particular aspects concerning failure rates are considered through dedicated documentation. Whether these are relevant for the respective safety functions, however, is tested in each individual application, especially as there is often only a low degree of coverage of possible failure sources. Certificates represent a declaration of conformity regarding only the specific aspects.

By contrast, the MFT-S is equipped through IconTrust™ with an independent, monitoring circuit, which permits the examination of the actual displayed information, and reveals errors through failure recognition with an appropriate safety relevant reaction. The methodology can monitor all types of information representations, whether alphanumeric or text, symbol, graphic or colour coded. Values or representation tolerances are also configurable. Apart from this, IconTrust™ is also excellently suited for large screen format in the track control sector for the safeguarding of information representation.
