ICE containing Deuta technology christened with the name Bergisch Gladbach

On the occasion of the city's 150th anniversary, Deutsche Bahn AG gave the city of Bergisch Gladbach a very special present: On 2 November 2006, at the official christening ceremony, an ICE 3 was given the name Bergisch Gladbach.

Bergisch Gladbach's mayor Klaus Orth carried out the ceremony together with the host Reiner Latsch, the representative of Deutsche Bahn AG for North Rhine-Westphalia, and the initiator of the ICE christening, Wolfgang Bosbach, member in the German Parliament.

Each ICE 3 contains safety technology made in Bergisch Gladbach: DEUTA-WERKE, whose headquarters are in Bergisch Gladbach, supplies the legally acceptable data recorder DSK 20 S1e, the analysis software ADS 3 to evaluate accident data, a multi-functional indicator MFA 20 and an analogue indicating unit ENG8/S1 to display on-board voltage.
